six days! 六天
We are counting down. It is going to quickly! And at the same time, it is feeling time.
The dining room table is covered in boys clothes. See?
I wonder what the electrician thought yesterday as he looked at this mess?
The living room has suitcases holding different categories of items. Look!
Notice whose is complete and totally full. Packed and ready?!
We've fished out Luke and Anna's winter jackets and snowpants. Just because. It is October in Minnesota and one never knows. I'd hate for my Mom and Dad to have to find those items if it suddenly became frigid and white outside.
Jim was the resident handy man all weekend. Lightbulbs that needed changing are changed. The air conditioner is asleep and properly bedded for winter. Anna and Emma have a closet that stores both of their clothes! My closet is finally organized...now that is a miracle. Thanks, honey, for the shelves!
We mowed, blowed and did initial fall cleanup. It is true that Emma Kate may be coming home to barren trees. Poor girl. She will wonder where in the world she lives now. I'm not certain the great white north will feel welcome to southern her!
Swede has been bathed, nails clipped and she's totally groomed. She even has a new collar: all pink and orange in its cuteness.
All the kids have been to the dentist. I've been to the dentist. Jim's been to the dentist. The dentist loves us.
I made a late night dash over to Anne Hunter's house, CAbi gal extraordinare, to procure jeans. It was a serious emergency. A girl can't go to China without her faves. It would have been a disaster. At least, I would have really missed my favorite jeans. And she came through! Actually, she graciously sold me the jeans from her drawer. Now that's a true act of love. Thank you, Anne! You saved the day. Okay, you saved the trip! :)
The freezer is slowly being stocked. For my parents while we are away. For us when we return and I am delirious with exhaustion and trying to fully focus on the tribe. Whew.
We need to leave. It is time to be done. I keep adding to the list, because I can and each thing we get done is one thing less to do upon arriving home and one thing more to make the three weeks we are gone better.
And we need to leave.
Really, we do.
Six days. 六天
So glad it is almost time!
