oh, yes....it's QUIET at our house now!

Yes, Christine.  I have been terribly remiss at updating news here, and I surely DID leave you all hanging about our adenoid abatement project.

sorry!

Please don't be mean at me!

Anna slumbers so peacefully now.  Actually, from the very first night those ginormous (that's a word in our personal family dictionary) glands were removed.

She snuck into our bed sleptover with us last night.  And besides the thrashing...it was SUCH a peaceful night! :)

No birthday girl wants to wake up alone!

She's doing great!

And now we have the joy of our days resplendent with her cheery voice, and our nights hushed with the silence of her quiet breathing.

Amen.

On a side note, I (Sara) got an extensive tour of Children's Mpls.  When darling Emma Kate arrives home and we make ourselves frequent flyers of their surgical expertise, I know where all the important things are:
coffee shop with a mean latte
best licorice snack location
restrooms on 2 levels
parking close to pharmacy
various and sundry waiting rooms
and I practiced praying in silence earnestly as she went under anesthesia...ugh.

God was good to give us a smaller procedure to learn the hospital on.

May I also please take a small bow for accomplishing the week we had on my own with my amazing husband away out of town.  Okay, not totally on my own, as my incredible Mom showed up to literally save the day.  I knew we'd need her, but had no idea how MUCH we'd actually need her.  Lifesaver.

So Mom, please take a LARGE bow with me and hear the applause.

Thank you, Mom!

Jim earned MAJOR kudos from Anna in the Dad department with a beautiful (truly!) bouquet of roses and a darling teddy bear delivered to her at home.  She was actually dancing with excitement.  And the note is tacked prominently on her bulletin board.  Good job, Daddy.  You are teaching her well how to be loved well.

A few people have asked, so I'll give a little Luke update while I'm at it.

He had his last seizure the day after Anna's surgery.  So it has been over a week now, and that is great news.

His meds are adjusted again, and we are wondering if a growth spurt is what caused the recent rise in seizure activity.

Or it's part of our "new normal": stretches of calm and quiet interspersed with seasons of heightened seizure activity.

No idea.  We trust God and live it day by day.
This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.
