oh the days are flying by

and suddenly it is (yep, it is!) 16 days to China!

16.  short.  days!

Time moving along.

I'm in prep mode.  Nesting.  The kind of preparations that have me doing fun and funny (as in odd) things like:

  •  buying a pictorial book of Minnesota to give to Emma Kate's orphanage family (fun!)
  •  sewing shut the shams on our bed that have been pinned at the bottom for a year (special request from my darling husband who is sick of pricking himself when he moves them!)
  •  cleaning out the freezer
  •  trying on all my skirts and dresses and trying to decide what says, "Emma Kate, I am your Mom and I love you.  Don't be scared".  Surely whatever I wear will influence our bonding.  Right?
  • Dentist.  Because it has been a year already, and surely I won't be running into the dentist for myself once we are home!
  • Making our curtains into a duvet cover for our bed, because it is really important to get that done now.  It is.  And thank you Jenn Myers and Besse for that HUGE help yesterday!  That one is proof to me that I am slightly off kilter, and enjoying all this prep immensely!
  • Writing a post a day.  For the fun of documenting the countdown.  And because Christine.  :)  Can't wait to read your countdown, dearest friend!  The days are coming!
Fun.  Funny.  Odd.

It is all good.  And it all brings us closer to the day we meet our darling girl.

I wonder what she is thinking?  IF she is thinking about us.

We can't stop thinking about her.

16 days, Emma Kate!  We're coming!
And we love you.
