May-hem

I have always referred to September and May as the months that push a mother close to or over the edge.

SO b.u.s.y.

And lately I've decided that surely the schools plan May to be brim full of activity and celebration not just to beautifully wrap up the school year, but to be assured that all mothers will rejoice that the end is near, simply to stop the madness of non-stop activity, extra performances, special projects, unique volunteer opportunities, final celebrations, wrap-ups and endings.

It is all good.  And it is about to do me in!

I know I'm not alone.

Suddenly, June 10th is sounding mighty sweet.

A few weeks ago I was a bit worried {to put it lightly} that summer would flow well and all the kids had ample activities balanced with lots of down time to enjoy the months of ease and leisure.

Not anymore.

Just stop the merry-go-round already! :)

Someone recently shared that they refer to the month of May not as it is named, but as "Mayhem".

Now that's apt!

Aptly named and well described.

So my absence with any news or silly recountings has more to do with the fact that I am operating on "gerbil on the wheel" mode.  Don't stop running.

Between the kids activities and my list of things I'd like to accomplish before summer arrives, May-hem is what we are!

Today I did get the girls closet cleaned out, purged and re-organized.  It looks mighty spiffy!  That was between running Anna to Brownie Book Club and swimming and taking Coop to apply for a part-time summer job and to the book store.  And all of that only happened between 11 and 4.

The closets all need a serious spring cleaning.  It feels so good to get that partway done!  Luke is next...oh, did you hear that wail?  He hates it when I go through his closet.

Onward!

Next stop: June.

What fun it is to celebrate May -- so much to mark and remember and finish and DO! Good job, Sara. Press onward. Congratulations, Silburn kids for all you've done this year. May you have a splendid summer!
