Luke is deep into baseball season. Spring season, that is. He is playing in a fun league and has learned reams from his coaches this year. They are excellent. No nonsense guys who run serious practices, but also let the kids know how well they are doing and how much they enjoy coaching them. Luke has been impressed with how much he is learning.
Luke playing baseball also means we have another family member vying for the bat and mitt. Emmacakes, of course. Each practice and game are met with tears...because she doesn't like to be left out. And so each practice and game also bring the plastic bat and whiffle ball, so "someone" can play ball like her brother.
Cute.
Track is over tomorrow with District Finals. It was a short and sweet season for Cooper and Jeb. Both enjoyed the sport, and made personal records in all their races. Cooper runs tomorrow in the 400 and a relay. It has been a great season and sport for both boys. A great compliment to Cross Country in the fall and Nordic {Cross Country skiing} in the winter.
Emma doesn't cry at this sport. It helps that they simply go after school and she is rather unaware that they are doing something she is not.
She's all about doing it all! Left behind, she will not be.
Which leads to the latest and greatest drama. There are suitcases out and packed for Anna and me.
We leave tomorrow for camp with her class. We will be gone one night, and are going to Voyageur Environmental Camp to enjoy such activities as canoeing, nature hikes, water environments and other outdoor experiences. It is always a fun time, and she has been looking forward to this for the entire school year.
My mom is coming up to stay with Emma and help facilitate life for the kids with Jim {who is also working}. Everyone is excited to see Gogo. Emma can't wait to play baseball with her, scooter, take walks, play sandbox, play kitchen, read, go to swimming lessons, etc.
What Emma can't stand is that she isn't going to camp.
She does NOT like to be left out.
Our Emma, I think, will have many adventures in her life. Intrepid is a word that will aptly describe her attitude and experiences. As will enthusiastic. And engaged, enthralled, included.
It is so very...fun. Fun in the fullest sense of that word. The way that joy intersects with wonder. Fun to see her learning so many things that she likes, that she wants to do, that she is capable of. And capable she is.
The only thing limiting Emma are the number of hours in the day.
Get ready world...Emma's here!
