Memorial Day {in pictures}

Here is Memorial Day, in pictures!

Our first-ever Memorial Day at home.  My parents sold our beloved cabin this winter, and while we miss it dearly, we are also feeling very blessed as we find new ways to experience and celebrate weekends, especially long holiday weekends at home together.  I had no idea we could do so much in one weekend!
wagon fun with most beloved treasures {note all the balls!}

"This is how it works, Jeb!"  Jeb mows the lawn with the riding mower for the first time!
Lawn mowing pre-rider: 2 hours.  Lawn mowing with riding mower: 30 minutes!
Yay, riding lawn mower!

This used to be the kids bathroom...now it is not.  Demo is still underway.  Pray for me.
 Plants were potted.
 Boys used saws.  4th Grade float being created by the dynamic duo.  Jim is king of the kids 4th grade float creations and has had so much fun over the years crafting state projects with them.  He shines as a Daddy, and it is so very fun to watch him alongside the kids!
 Gogo, don't be scared.  They were careful.  They are cutting out a horse.  Can you guess which state that is for?
While some boys mowed and sawed, a girl made a spaceship!  Big happenings in the driveway.
 Sebastian Joe's ice cream...yum!  We are eating huddled near the building because suddenly it was a rain storm complete with thunder and lightning.  Don't those girls look happy!?
Yum!  And guess what?  This one is now EIGHT!

I won't post me on my hands and knees washing the floors in the entire house after the bathroom demo...two different days of the three day weekend.  Or the photos of the washing machine going in all its glory.  I got all the chair cushions in the dining room and kitchen laundered and pressed!  Spring cleaning at its best.  Boy did that feel great!

So that was Memorial Day.  Good.  Great.  Happy.  Fun.  I had no idea that Memorial Day was actually a weekend to prepare for summer.  Now we know.

And that leads us to...
