Tomorrow Emma Kate has palate surgery at 12:30pm.
It is a big day.
Today, we are prepping for a week at home {emphasis on quiet}. Grocery for soft foods, cleaning just because it feels so good to be in a clean house, laundry all done, some advanced organization for the kids week.
I have our bags packed! I will stay over night with Emma Kate and Jim will come trade off with me on Tuesday morning so I can sneak home for a shower and to get the kids to a couple of activities.
Anna starts Latin Camp this week! She is so excited. It will be a fun way to meet some new classmates and get excited for the new school year to start. It is also good timing as it gives her something to do with her mornings in a week when Emma Kate needs to be quiet and rest.
I have a grand plan to make major headway in the bible study I'm doing with the big boys tis summer. We are doing a Precept Upon Precept study of Joseph. It is good, and we are behind! I am hoping we can catch up a bit and am looking forward to some afternoons on the screen porch with our study, some iced tea and my boys.
But back to Emma Kate. She is not super happy to go to the hospital for yet another surgery. The news that she didn't need a cast makes her one happy camper though. I'm not sure how her VERY sore throat will make her feel once all is over...
Children's feels so familiar now, since we attend our speech therapy there twice a week, that it feels so different from our earlier surgeries. I'm hoping Noelle might peek her head in while we are in hospital. Maybe we can play a round of Crazy 8's with her! :)
If the Lord brings our Emma Kate to mind, please join us in praying for her and for everything that will come to pass tomorrow. Specifically for surgery from 12:30-3:30, and then for her recovery and healing.
This surgery is primarily a speech surgery, and we have such excitement for her in terms of what it will mean for how well people will be able to understand her afterward. Kindergarten is going to be such a beautiful thing for our EK!
Happy Sunday to you. Praying the Lord's day is a sweet time of refreshment and rest with the Lord.
Love,
Sara
